Minor Degree

What is a minor degree?

A minor degree is an academic award that can be obtained in addition to a university’s primary area of study. A student might choose to earn both the undergraduate and graduate degrees for their major field, or they may opt instead for another branch of knowledge altogether.

Either way, this type of credential will signify specialization or further education outside one’s principal coursework within the discipline at hand. If you want to study something in-depth without committing too much time or money at first, a minor might be right for you.

Some students choose their major as early as junior year of high school so they have more flexibility with what classes they take during college because those courses will count towards both degrees when it’s time to graduate from college
